Description

Tik Tok Million Dollar Spaghetti is a rich and creamy baked pasta dish layered with a luscious homemade Alfredo sauce, savory ground beef and sausage marinara, and topped with a blend of melted cheeses. This indulgent recipe combines angel hair pasta with a decadent three-cheese cream sauce and hearty meat sauce, then baked to bubbly perfection for a crowd-pleasing comfort food meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta and Sauce

  • 1 lb. angel hair pasta or spaghetti
  • 32 oz. marinara sauce
  • 1 stick butter (8 tablespoons)
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 3 tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste
  • red pepper flakes, to taste

Meat and Vegetables

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef (80/20)
  • 1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage (mild works too)
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 10 garlic cloves, minced, divided
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Cheese Topping

  • 2/3 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2/3 cup fontina cheese, shredded
  • 2/3 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • parsley for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the assembled spaghetti dish.
  2. Make the Alfredo Sauce: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt 6 tablespoons of butter. Add half of the minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream, bring it to a low boil, then simmer for about 5 minutes to thicken the cream. Whisk in the parmesan cheese and softened cream cheese until melted and the sauce is thickened. Season the sauce with salt, red pepper flakes, and freshly cracked pepper to taste.
  3. Cook Pasta: Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook until al dente. Drain and return pasta to the pot. Pour the Alfredo sauce over the pasta and toss to coat evenly. Clean the skillet for the next step.
  4. Brown the Meat and Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in the same skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and sausage, breaking up the meat as it cooks. After about 2 minutes, stir in the diced onion, green bell pepper, and remaining minced garlic. Sauté until the vegetables soften and the meat is browned.
  5. Add Marinara Sauce: Pour the marinara sauce into the skillet with the browned meat and vegetables. Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste, and mix well to combine all flavors evenly.
  6. Assemble the Spaghetti: Grease a large cast iron skillet or a 9×13 casserole dish. Spread the Alfredo-coated spaghetti in an even layer in the dish. Pour the meat marinara sauce evenly over the pasta and smooth it with a spatula.
  7. Add Cheese Topping and Bake: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella, fontina, and provolone cheeses evenly over the top. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until bubbly and golden. Optionally, broil for an additional 5 minutes for a crispier top layer.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, let it cool slightly, and garnish with chopped parsley if desired before serving. Enjoy this hearty, cheesy baked spaghetti!

Notes

  • Just like lasagna, the sauce can bubble over and spill on the bottom of the oven. To prevent this, place a baking sheet lined with foil on the rack beneath the casserole while baking.
  • Use fresh grated parmesan cheese for best flavor and melting texture.
  • Fontina cheese adds a creamy richness, but you can substitute with more mozzarella if unavailable.
  • Allow the dish to rest for a few minutes after baking to help it set for easier serving.
  • Adjust the spiciness by using mild or hot Italian sausage and adding or omitting red pepper flakes.
