Main Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs. flank steak
- 1 lb. frozen medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8.5 oz. Bens Original Jasmine Ready Rice Side Dish
- 1 tsp. olive oil
- 1/3 cup coconut aminos
- 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 12 oz. stir-fry broccoli
- 3 green onions, chopped
Steak Marinade
- 1/2 cup coconut aminos
- 1 Tbsp. toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 lime, juiced
Instructions
- Slice the steak: Cut the flank steak into thin strips against the grain to ensure tenderness and proper texture.
- Marinate the steak: Mix coconut aminos, toasted sesame oil, lime juice, ground ginger, and garlic powder in a resealable bag. Add the sliced steak, reseal, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to marinate, preferably longer for richer flavor.
- Defrost shrimp: Submerge the frozen shrimp in a large bowl of warm water, changing the water once or twice until fully thawed.
- Cook the steak: Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak, searing for about 3 minutes per side until cooked to desired doneness. Remove and set aside, retaining the pan juices.
- Cook the shrimp: Add the thawed shrimp to the pan with steak juices. Cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Prepare broccoli: Place the broccoli in a microwave-safe bowl with water and microwave for 3-5 minutes until tender but still slightly crisp. Drain excess water.
- Sauté vegetables and make sauce: Add the drained broccoli to the same pan. Stir in 1/3 cup coconut aminos and 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard. Cook briefly to meld flavors.
- Cook rice: Microwave the Jasmine Ready Rice according to package instructions until hot.
- Combine everything: Add cooked rice to the skillet with vegetables, mixing thoroughly. Return the steak and shrimp to the pan, stirring to coat with sauce and heat through.
- Garnish and serve: Top with chopped green onions and optional sesame seeds or chili flakes. Serve immediately for a hot, flavorful meal.
Notes
- Excess sauce helps coat all ingredients evenly and enhance flavor.
- Always defrost shrimp properly to prevent tough texture.
- You can customize the spice level with additional chili flakes or sriracha.
- Use fresh green onions for the best flavor and crunch.
- This dish pairs well with Asian-inspired sides like steamed edamame or spring rolls.
