Description

These Rice Krispies Halloween Peeps Pops are a fun, festive, and easy-to-make treat perfect for Halloween celebrations. Crispy Rice Krispie treats are transformed into adorable pops by inserting sticks, dipping them in melted white candy coating, and decorating with Halloween-themed Peeps and sprinkles. They’re a kid-friendly and budget-conscious dessert that looks fantastic on any party table.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 2 boxes (8 ct each) Kellogg’s Rice Krispie Treats
  • 16 Popsicle sticks or lollipop sticks or festive paper straws

Coating and Decoration

  • 12 oz Wilton Bright White candy melts
  • Halloween Peeps (quantity as desired for decoration)
  • Halloween sprinkles (quantity as desired for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a large baking sheet with wax or parchment paper to keep the treats from sticking and to provide a clean surface for decorating.
  2. Insert Sticks: Open each Rice Krispie Treat and discard the wrappers. Insert one popsicle stick, lollipop stick, or a cut festive paper straw into the base of each treat. To create a perfect hole, you can pre-make it with a popsicle stick and then insert the paper straw. Lay the treats on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Chill Treats: Place the baking sheet with the prepared Rice Krispie Treats into the refrigerator for 20 minutes to allow them to firm up, making it easier to coat them with melted candy.
  4. Melt Candy Coating: While the treats chill, melt the Wilton Bright White candy melts according to package instructions, either in a microwave-safe bowl or candy warmer, stirring until smooth.
  5. Dip Treats: Remove the treats from the fridge and dip each Rice Krispie Treat into the melted candy coating. Use a spoon to help cover any spots if necessary, letting excess drip back into the bowl.
  6. Decorate: Place each coated treat back onto the baking sheet. While the coating is still warm, sprinkle Halloween sprinkles on top and press a Halloween Peep gently into the candy melt to decorate.
  7. Set and Store: For faster hardening, refrigerate the decorated pops until the candy coating is fully set. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in a cool place for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • This is a super easy and budget-friendly Halloween treat idea that looks fantastic and is sure to impress guests of all ages.
  • For extra firmness, make sure to chill the Rice Krispie Treats thoroughly before dipping to prevent breaking or melting.
  • Use white candy melts for the best contrast with colorful Peeps and sprinkles, but feel free to experiment with other colors to match your theme.
  • Store these pops in a cool, dry place to maintain their crispness and prevent the candy coating from melting.
