Description

These Red, White & Blue M&M’S Cookie Bars are a delicious and festive treat perfect for patriotic celebrations or any time you’re craving a sweet and chewy dessert. Packed with colorful M&M’S and mini chocolate chips, these cookie bars are sure to be a hit with everyone!


Ingredients

Cookie Bars:

  • 2 sticks of butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of firmly packed golden brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups of Red White & Blue M&M’S, plus more for topping
  • 1 cup of mini chocolate chips plus more for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare baking dish: Line a 9×13 aluminum baking dish with foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Spray foil generously with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Mix ingredients: In a stand mixer, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla extract, then mix in flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  4. Add M&M’S and chocolate chips: Stir in M&M’S and mini chocolate chips. Transfer dough to baking dish.
  5. Top with candies: Press additional M&M’S and mini chocolate chips on top of cookie dough.
  6. Bake: Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  7. Cool and cut: Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
