Description

This recipe recreates the famous Raising Cane’s Fried Chicken, Texas Toast, and Sauce. Crispy chicken tenders marinated in buttermilk, coated in seasoned flour, served with a creamy dipping sauce, and paired with buttery Texas toast.


Ingredients

Marinade:

  • 3 chicken breasts, cut longways into strips
  • 350ml buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp white pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

Sauce:

  • 1 cup mayo
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcester sauce
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Dredge:

  • 1.5 cups plain flour
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp white pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

Texas Toast:

  • 2 slices thick-cut bread
  • Mayo

Instructions

  1. Marinade: Mix buttermilk, salt, white pepper, and garlic powder. Marinate chicken in the mixture in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
  2. Sauce: Combine mayo, ketchup, Worcester sauce, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Refrigerate.
  3. Dredge: Mix flour, salt, white pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge marinated chicken in flour mixture and fry until cooked through.
  4. Texas Toast: Spread mayo on bread slices and brown in a non-stick pan.
  5. Serve the fried chicken tenders with Texas toast, crinkle chips, and the dipping sauce.
