Description
A delicious and flavorful Instant Pot General Tso’s Chicken recipe that is quick and easy to make. Tender chicken coated in a sweet and savory sauce, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions, perfect for serving over rice.

Chicken:
- 2 pounds chicken breast, skinless and boneless, cut into bite-size pieces
Sauce:
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
Optional Garnish:
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Saute Chicken: Turn the Instant Pot to the saute setting and add chicken pieces. Add all sauce ingredients except cornstarch and water. Stir well.
- Pressure Cook: Close the lid, set to Poultry setting for 5 minutes. Natural release for 10 minutes.
- Thicken Sauce: Switch to saute setting, remove chicken, mix cornstarch and water, add to sauce. Cook until thickened.
- Finish: Return chicken to pot, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve over rice.
Notes
- Read the Instant Pot guide before using.
- Substitute chicken thighs, cider vinegar, or cayenne if needed.
- Adjust sweetness by reducing honey or brown sugar.
