This Halloween Veggie Tray Appetizer Trio features a festive and colorful selection of fresh vegetables arranged creatively to resemble spooky skeleton and Frankenstein themes, paired with creamy cheeses, guacamole, and tortilla chips. It’s perfect for Halloween parties, offering a healthy and fun way to enjoy veggies with delicious dips and cheeses.

Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables

  • ½ Green Pepper
  • ½ Red Pepper
  • ½ Orange Pepper
  • ½ Yellow Pepper
  • 3 stalks Celery, cut into pieces
  • 1 Cucumber, sliced
  • 1 8 oz package White Mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups Cauliflower florets
  • 2 cups Broccoli florets
  • 4 Cherry Tomatoes
  • 2 Baby Carrots
  • Olives (quantity as needed)
  • Romaine Lettuce Leaves (quantity as needed)

Cheeses

  • 1 wedge Brie
  • 1 wedge Gouda with red wax
  • 1 8 oz block Cheddar cheese

Dips and Others

  • Black gel icing (for decoration)
  • 1 cup Guacamole
  • 1 bag blue Tortilla Chips
  • Sour Cream (quantity as needed)
  • Veggie Dip (quantity as needed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Vegetables: Wash all vegetables thoroughly. Cut the green, red, orange, and yellow peppers into halves and slice as needed. Slice the cucumber, mushrooms, and celery stalks into bite-size pieces. Separate cauliflower and broccoli into small florets. Rinse cherry tomatoes and baby carrots.
  2. Arrange Skeleton Veggie Tray: On a large serving platter, arrange romaine lettuce leaves as a base. Create a skeleton figure using celery sticks for bones, cauliflower and broccoli florets for the body parts, and peppers and mushrooms to fill gaps. Use olives as eyes or joints. Cherry tomatoes can be used as accents or decorations around the skeleton.
  3. Prepare Frankenstein Guacamole: In a serving bowl, place 1 cup of guacamole. Decorate the guacamole with Olives as eyes and use black gel icing for Frankenstein’s mouth or scars. Position baby carrots around as ‘bolts’ on the sides.
  4. Cheese Display: Slice the Brie, Gouda, and Cheddar cheeses into manageable pieces or shapes. Arrange them on a separate section of the tray. Use black gel icing to add spooky Halloween faces or designs on the cheese wedges if desired.
  5. Finish the Tray: Add blue tortilla chips alongside the guacamole. Place veggie dip and sour cream in small bowls for dipping the arranged vegetables. Ensure the platter is visually balanced and colorful to attract guests.
  6. Serve: Serve immediately or cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until serving time. This tray can be enjoyed chilled and makes a perfect centerpiece for any Halloween party.
