Description

This Gluten-Free Christmas Chex Mix is a festive and crunchy snack perfect for holiday gatherings. It combines a colorful mix of gluten-free cereals, pretzels, peanuts, and red & green M&Ms, all coated in a delicious vanilla almond bark white chocolate melt. Easy to make and visually vibrant with optional sprinkles, this treat is a delightful mix of sweet and salty flavors that sets beautifully for a perfect party snack or holiday gift.

Ingredients

Scale

Christmas Chex Mix

  • 2 cups Rice Chex Cereal
  • 2 cups Corn Chex Cereal
  • 1 ½ cups Cheerios Cereal
  • 2 ½ cups Gluten-Free Pretzels (preferably twists)
  • 1 cup Salted Peanuts (just salted, not seasoned)
  • 1 cup Red & Green M&Ms Candy (milk chocolate or peanut butter)
  • 16 oz. Vanilla Almond Bark White Candy Melts or White Chocolate Chips

Optional Decoration

  • 1-2 Tablespoons red and green sprinkles (nonpareils or jimmies)
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Station: Spread a few sheets of parchment paper on a cookie sheet or countertop for stability and easy cleanup.
  2. Combine The Christmas Chex Mix Ingredients: Reserve half the M&Ms for decoration later. In a large bowl, mix together Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Cheerios, gluten-free pretzels, half of the M&Ms, and salted peanuts (if using).
  3. Melt The White Chocolate Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the vanilla almond bark in 20-30 second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each until smooth and lump-free. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler on the stovetop.
  4. Drizzle & Stir: Pour the melted white chocolate coating over the cereal mixture and quickly stir to evenly coat all ingredients before the coating begins to harden.
  5. Spread Out, Sprinkle & Cool: Transfer the coated mixture onto the prepared parchment paper. Immediately sprinkle the reserved M&Ms and optional sprinkles on top. Allow the mixture to cool completely so it sets into clusters of varying sizes.
  6. Serve & Store: Enjoy the chex mix once the coating has hardened. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

Notes

  • Reserve some M&Ms to add after coating so the red and green colors stand out beautifully.
  • Add a sprinkle of festive nonpareil or jimmies sprinkles for extra visual appeal.
  • For an extra decorative touch, dip 1/2-3/4 cup of pretzels individually in melted almond bark, add sprinkles, and let dry before mixing with the rest.
