Description

This Lamb Chops Marinade Recipe features tender lamb chops infused with a fresh garlic and herb marinade, pan-seared to perfection with olive oil and butter. The simple yet flavorful marinade using garlic, parsley, and rosemary enhances the natural richness of the lamb, making it an elegant and easy-to-make dish perfect for a special dinner or weekend meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Lamb Chops

  • 8 lamb chops, each approx. 1-inch thick
  • Salt and pepper, to season
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, for cooking
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Season: Generously season both sides of your lamb chops with salt and pepper to enhance their natural flavor before marinating.
  2. Prepare the garlic herb marinade: In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, minced fresh parsley, and minced fresh rosemary. Using a pastry brush, evenly brush both sides of the lamb chops with the marinade. Discard any remaining marinade and allow the chops to marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes to let flavors penetrate.
  3. Cook: Heat a large cast-iron skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and swirl to coat the pan’s surface. When the oil starts to smoke slightly, carefully add the lamb chops. Cook for approximately 3-4 minutes until they develop a light brown crust. Add the butter to the skillet, flip each chop, and cook an additional 4-5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 125°F for medium-rare or 135°F for medium, measured with a digital meat thermometer.
  4. Rest: Remove the lamb chops from the skillet and let them rest for at least 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute, ensuring tender and juicy meat.
  5. Serve: Serve the lamb chops with your favorite dipping sauce such as homemade mint chutney. Enjoy this rich and flavorful meal!

Notes

  • If marinating for longer than 30 minutes, cover the lamb chops and refrigerate them to maintain safety and freshness.
  • Allow refrigerated lamb chops to come to room temperature before cooking to ensure even cooking.
  • You may marinate the lamb for up to 24 hours for deeper flavor infusion.
  • Store leftover cooked lamb chops in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
