Description

Delicious and easy-to-make smash burger tacos that are perfect for a quick meal. These tacos feature crispy, juicy beef patties smashed between flour tortillas and topped with cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, and a flavorful burger sauce.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Ground Beef Patties:

  • 1 pound ground beef, 80/20 fat percentage
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 10 cracks fresh black pepper

Burger Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons minced bread & butter pickles
  • 1 tablespoon pickle brine
  • 10 cracks fresh black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Additional Ingredients:

  • 6 (six-inch) flour tortillas
  • 6 slices muenster or provolone cheese
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Chopped white onion
  • Dill pickle chips

Instructions

  1. Burger Sauce: Add all burger sauce ingredients to a bowl and whisk to combine. Refrigerate until ready to use; can be made 3 days in advance.
  2. Beef Patties: Mix salt and pepper into ground beef. Form into 2 1/2 ounce balls. Refrigerate. Preheat flat top.
  3. Cooking: Heat flat top on high. Place each ball on the hot surface. Set tortilla on top of each ball. Smash meat thin. Cook for 1 minute. Press again and cook for 2-3 minutes. Check for crispiness. Flip and cook for 2 more minutes.
  4. Serving: Top with cheese, burger sauce, lettuce, onions, pickles. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Handle the beef gently for tender patties.
  • Ensure the flat top is very hot for a crispy exterior.
  • Adjust cooking time based on desired doneness.
