Ingredients

Ingredients for Beef Stir-Fry:

  • 1 lb Top sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 medium yellow zucchini, sliced on the diagonal
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, minced or pressed
  • 1/2 Tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish

Ingredients for Asian BBQ Sauce:

  • 2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Asian BBQ Sauce: Combine the 3 sauce ingredients and set aside.
  2. Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat a large pan over high heat, sautee beef until nearly cooked through, season, add ginger and garlic, and stir in the sauce.
  3. Cook the Vegetables: Stir-fry mushrooms until golden, then cook onions and veggies until soft and golden.
  4. Combine and Serve: Mix vegetables with beef and mushrooms, add more sauce to taste, and stir-fry until hot. Serve over rice.

Notes

  • If using a sweet BBQ sauce, the dish will be sweeter, so an original BBQ sauce is recommended.
  • This recipe also works well with pork strip loin or tenderloin.
  • Use a high smoke-point oil such as extra light olive oil, avocado oil, or canola.
