Scale
Filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons green onion, chopped
- 4 cups shredded chicken
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 5 tablespoons milk
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
Dough & Topping
- 2 cans crescent roll dough
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
- ½ cup traditional bread crumbs
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350℉ (175℃) to ensure it’s ready for baking the crescents.
- Prepare Filling: In a bowl, blend the cream cheese and 4 tablespoons of melted butter until smooth. Add the shredded chicken, salt, pepper, milk, and chopped green onions, then mix everything together thoroughly.
- Prepare Dough: Separate the crescent roll dough into individual triangles as marked on the packaging.
- Assemble Crescents: Spoon about ¼ cup of the chicken mixture near the base of each crescent triangle. Roll each crescent up in the traditional crescent shape, pinching the open edges tightly to seal the filling inside.
- Make Topping: In a small bowl, combine the parmesan cheese and bread crumbs to create the topping mixture.
- Brush and Sprinkle: Lightly brush each crescent roll with the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Then sprinkle the parmesan and bread crumb topping evenly over each crescent.
- Bake: Place the prepared roll-ups in a lightly greased 13×9-inch casserole dish or on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown.
- Serve: Remove the roll-ups from the oven and serve hot alongside your favorite cream sauce or chicken gravy for a delicious meal.
Notes
- The creamy chicken filling wrapped in flaky crescent dough makes these roll-ups perfect for dinner, appetizers, or party finger food.
- Ensure to seal the edges of the crescent dough well to avoid the filling leaking during baking.
- You can substitute green onions with chives or finely diced regular onions if preferred.
- For extra crispiness, broil for a minute or two at the end of baking, watching carefully to prevent burning.
