Instructions

  5. Fill Pies: Divide the chicken mixture evenly among the dough circles. For smaller hand pies, place the filling in the center, maintaining about a 1/4-inch border around the edges. For larger pies, place the filling to one side along the border.
  6. Seal Pies: Moisten the edges of the dough with a little water, fold over, and seal firmly by pinching or pressing with a fork to prevent filling leakage during baking.
  7. Vent and Egg Wash: Cut a few small slits on top of each hand pie to allow steam to escape. Optionally brush the tops with the beaten egg wash for a golden finish.
  8. Bake: Place the pies on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 17-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.
